Today is Earth Day and it makes me think of all the beauty around us. If we all just take the time to notice it as we move thru our day, it's like therapy. The fragrance of a lilac tree can cause one to snap back into the present moment and out of the hectic inner dialog of one's head. How nice is that? And it's free! This time of year is particularly "therapeautic" because of all that comes with the warm seasonal changes, however, I would urge everyone to pay attention to all the seasons and what they have to offer. Colors, fragrances and beatiful stages or growth and shape will stimulate all the senses.
I love to observe color combinations up close. It's a really effective way to not only enjoy and appreciate natural beauty, but it's a wonderful way to establish color palette for your home design. Instead of following the usual, more mainstream color palettes that you see in all the home stores and such, why not take a good look around you and grab from what makes you feel good? I know, I know.....easier said than done, but that's why I'm here. I also love to observe interactions and combinations of shape and growth in nature. The repetition of branches. The powerful statement of a single flowering tree in a yard. Textural changes. It's all good to me.
