Well, the holidays are upon us and the new year is just around the corner. It's a time to celebrate and reflect. The older I get, the more I realize just how fortunate I am. I have all the components of a truly good life....and I'm not talking about monetary material things. I'm talking about family and friends......and work that I love. It's easy to lose sight of what's really important around this time of year because of the stresses of running around, entertaining, spending etc. but if we all just take a moment to think about what is truly important, none of that other stuff matters. The things I remember most are the interactions with others, not the gifts that they bring or what color their Christmas tree is (although as a designer I enjoy seeing all the decor). Being nice to each other, helping each other, doing something unexpected and nice for someone, validating each person the way they want and just simply enjoying each and every moment is what it's all about. No money needed for that kind of giving. Families are all very quirky and have their annoyances but if we don't give energy to those things then they seem to fade away. Focus on good things and the holidays will be ever so joyful......really. My wish for everyone this year and the coming new year is that you have all that I have and appreciate it as much as I do. Happy Holidays everyone! This tablescape is using mostly re-purposed items. The main attraction is a set of cut glass punch bowls filled with lights and garland and stacked to make a sparkling Christmas tree for this Advent occasion. Lovely and festive!

I believe that everyone is entitled to the peace that goes along with having beautiful surroundings and that good design should be accessible to all. Categories
