Lakehouse Residence
My name is Catherine and I am a degreed designer with over 20 years of interior design experience. I graduated from Harrington Institute of Interior Design in Chicago, IL. I was on the Dean's list the entire time I attended and was chosen for an assistant teaching position after I graduated. My training is in commercial and residential interior design. I also worked for Marshall Fields for 10 years and had a position as a Senior Designer in the Interior Design Studio of the Schaumburg, IL Home Store. After Marshall Field's I worked as an independent designer for a small design firm that did primarily kitchen and bath remodeling. Prior to my design degree I was in the decorating world of window treatments and textiles. I have extensive knowledge of window treatments, upholstery, general sewing and pretty much anything to do with fabrics and trim.
All my life I have loved making things look beautiful. I have actually done my own projecting so I know the intricacies that go along with achieving a desired final goal. I am absolutely passionate about design. I consider myself one of the lucky few who actually enjoys their work.
Over the many years I've been in this business I have learned so much about construction, furniture, lighting and all the things that go into building a house and filling it with all the things that make it a home. I can work with you from the ground up, helping with where to put walls and choosing all the materials of the home such as roof shingles, siding, flooring, baseboards and such. Or, if you just need me to tell you what color to paint your walls, I can do that too. No job is too big or too small.
Oh, and by the way, Mouse is my nickname.
